Yakima® Applewood Smoked Salt Seasoned Bloody Mary

Known as the beverage version of a salad, the Bloody Mary has been gracing brunch tables for years. With vodka and tomato juice as the blank canvas, attention has turned to not only the seasoning for the drink, but also the seasoned salt rim and variety of garnishes. As of late, the garnishes have taken the spotlight, with everything from bacon to pizza to sliders! We choose to stick with the basics and focus on the seasoning for the mix and rim. With a smoky hint from the Yakima® Applewood Smoked Salt, this seasoning is a layered surprise for your taste buds. Enjoy!

Cooking Directions

  • For the seasoning and rim: Mix the first seven ingredients thoroughly in a bowl.
  • For the Bloody Mary: In a shaker, combine vodka, tomato juice, Worcestershire, hot sauce and about 1-2 teaspoons of the seasoning mix. Fill shaker with ice and give it a good shake. Set aside.
  • Run a lime wedge around the rim of each glass. Tip the glass on its side and hold parallel to the plate of seasoning mix. Coat the outside edge of the rim. You want to keep the salt out of the top and inside of the glass to avoid the salt falling into the drink, causing a salty mess.
  • Fill glass with ice and add Bloody Mary mix. Squeeze and drop in a lime wedge.
  • Add desired garnish and enjoy.
